Protocol

The patients in these cases underwent stress SPECT imaging on a “conventional”, dedicated cardiac SPECT system. This was a dual-detector system equiped with low-energy, high-resolution (LEHR) collimators. Images were obtained according to routine clinical protocol, beginning approx 30 minutes post-injection.

After obtaining informed consent, repeat images were obtained approx. one hour later on the CardiArc^® SPECT system using the residual activity from the clinical images. No additional tracer was injected for the CardiArc^® images.

CardiArc^® images were obtained on a clinical prototype system. This machine uses CZT (cadmium zinc telluride) semiconductor detectors, but the detector arc was only half-filled.  The acquisition times noted for the CardiArc^® images are therefore normalized to those of a production system with sodium-iodide detectors. All indicated times are normalized for tracer decay.
