This heart phantom has no background activity.  The diffuse “background” surrounding the heart actually represents blurring and smearing of heart activity due to the system response function.   Note how much less of this blurring is present in the CardiArc^® images.  This results in a higher signal-to-noise ratio in the CardiArc^® images.    ---- Both image sets are displayed identically at default contrast and intensity levels.
